There is a serious etiquette issue erupting in our contemporary culture. The term 'etiquette' is classically associated with all things 'posh'. These days, this is just not the case.Etiquette revolves around 'conduct', 'decorum' and how one presents oneself in society and social groups. But that doesn't mean how to behave at a tea party hosted by the Queen. Behaviour in public and the way we mix with the fellow humans is relevant now more than ever - particularly in a climate where kids eat with their hands and can't spell for thsi.
We can learn a lot from these traditional rules and we can reintroduce them into modern times. Everyday behaviour from barging into the front of the bus queue and lobbing KFC boxes onto the streets, through to slamming doors and nonchalantly refusing to give up seats for old ladies is just not forgivable. As is picking your nose whilst driving and getting your knob out and pissing in public - you know who you are.
A simple awareness is desperately needed - introduced by peers, parents, teachers and public personalities. This could improve our daily lives dramatically. And, of course, we could all do our bit. So what are you waiting for? Look sharp!
