I've recently come out of a long relationship and have started seeing a girl I have liked for ages. I really fancy her but every time we try to have sex I am unable to get hard. I feel really awful about this, for her as much as for me. It's pretty embarrassing.

A Steamy Visit to Amora

Kirsty McCrae, with a recently acquired male in tow, investigates Amora –  London’s hottest visitor attraction dedicated to love, sex and all things kinky.

Amora is situated just off Piccadilly Circus, in a cavernous space nestled under the Trocadero Centre. The whole venue is opulently furnished with stylish, design-led pieces in rich red and pink hues with a very opium den type feel.  Dim lighting, floaty curtains and an abstract audio commentary combines to create a fantasy world where you feel comfortable enough to lose your inhibitions as you explore the seven zones on offer.

In the first zone we examined desire and unravelled the rules of attraction and first flirtations. Doves, if Stags are making plenty of eye contact, turning towards you and stroking the edge of their glass, chances are they are hoping you like your Venison raw. Stags, if your Dove is licking her lips, glancing down shyly or stroking her hair, it’s more than likely that you’ve succeeded in ruffling her feathers.

Next we entered the Sensorium, an area equipped with state of the art, life-sized models lounging on tables in their birthday suits with their essential equipment  prominently on display. Other zones explored the psychology of sex, and video demos showed how to perform a successful strip tease and the perfect blow job (better to come across this life-changing info late than never).

One highlight was a feature wall showing casts of real human genitals in all their varying shapes, sizes and forms. It was a reminder that men (and woman) are not created equal, and actually, below the waist we are all quite unique and entirely different from one another. I think the police may be missing a trick by using finger printing as the principal means of identifying crims.

Another highlight was the orgasm tunnel which contained a plethora of information on how, why, and when we reach orgasm.  3D maps, displaying the location of the infamousprostate and trusty G-spot, showed visitors where exactly they should be poking and stroking their partners for maximum effect.

As with all exhibitions, there is the mandatory shop selling an exciting array of sex toys and games, and the Aphrodisiac Lounge is the perfect venue for a relaxing cocktail while you flick through their collection of erotic literature.

Overall Amora’s well worth a look.
