Single of the week
Spektrum – Kinda New (Data/Ministry of Sound)
UK band Spektrum are about to be propelled into the charts with this re-issue of underground anthem 'Kinda New' that was released two years ago but didn't quite smash the Top 10. Finally it gets the airing it deserves with ardent supports such Radio One's Dave Pierce. An Ibiza anthem for a second time around? You betcha.

Album of the week
Amerie - Because I Love It (Columbia)
Exotic sex goddess Amerie with those killer legs is back with her
third album. Remember her hit '1 Thing'? Well this is album has more of the same, but bigger and better. Teaming up with production giant Cee-Lo once again, this kitten of the R&B world is purring with delight and has got more spare change these days than Beyonce has spare cellulite removal kits. Amerie is not just giving Beyonce's thick thighs a run for their money, but all the ladies in the soul and R&B world. Pussycat Dolls? Pah. Booty Luv? Give over. This babe is the real deal.

Music to get naked to
5 Tunes selected and reviewed by Snax

US-born Snax is the hottest performer out of Berlin – imagine Elton John meets Jamie Lidell - having recently toured with the Scissor Sisters and released electronic R&B album, ‘Love Pollution’. Here he shares with us those intimate musical moments when he likes to get naked.
1. Throbbing Gristle – ‘20 Jazz Funk Greats’
I have to strip as soon as the bass line begins. I used to listen to this in DC, when I was living alone and really frustrated and
penniless. Slowly undressing, as soon as Cosey starting blowing on her sleazy trumpet, would cheer me up no end.
2. ‘My Bloody Valentine - No More Sorry’
You can feel that voice all over your skin. This song was very
appropriate after I broke up with my partner. I was sitting naked in the dark just like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction turning the light on and off, except in that movie she was listening to Madam Butterfly and wearing clothes.
3. The SOS Band – ‘The Finest’
This makes the list because I gave my first blow job while this was playing. I was naked but he wasn't.
4. Gina V. D'Orio and Like A Tim – ‘Bass Girl LP’
This is an album of reworked girl group standards featuring only acid bass lines and Gina's impeccable voice - stripped down,
unpretentious, naked. I've enjoyed this next to a hot body right
before drifting off into dream land.
5. George Gershwin – ‘Prelude #2’
Once when I was still living in New York, during one of that city's
sweltering hot summer nights, I heard this piece lightly wafting over my head from an open apartment window. I looked up and there was a woman sitting on her window sill smoking a cigarette, completely starkers. No-one but me noticed a thing.
