There's been much fuss over the opening of Soho House's hip sister over in the East End. Shoreditch has been fashionable for quite some time now, but it takes a while for these wafts to reach over from W1. And it's certainly made an impact.

The Soho pack have ventured those few miles up the road and discovered the urban landscape from the view of the Shoreditch House's Fifth Floor which they'd only read about in magazines like Sleazenation or Vice.

Despite the Z listers and wannabe City types getting drunk/high on the roof terrace, SH is, aesthetically, fabulous. Finally there's an establishment in the area that one can dress up to go to, outfits that won't get ruined by the end of the night - you couldn't be further removed from the dirty warehouse party a few blocks away, thank God.

If you're lucky enough to know a member (or are one, you flash git), then get blagging and head over there for a meal. And it won't break the bank.

The Fifth Floor hosts the restaurant - simple rustic design with its long communal tables and open grills, creating a friendly atmosphere - with the staff at least.

The House Menu is broad, from pizzas and chips, through to delicate plates of dover sole, rabbit and sea bream. All for way under £20. The pasta is especially good - the Parpadelle with beef fillet hitting the spot on a chilly winter's lunch break out of the office.

And you never know, you might have Kate Moss, Neil Tennant or Groove Armada asking you to pass the salt.
