Brothers & Sisters - Channel 4 (Wednesdays, 10pm)
One of the best dramas to come out of the US since the West Wing, Brothers & Sisters boasts an all star cast (Calista Flockhart, Sally Field, and Rachel Griffiths) and a witty, intelligent script that would put most US shows to shame. B&S digs deep into themes of loyalty, heartbreak, homosexuality, drug dependence, US politics and the good old fashioned family bitch fight.
Stag choice
Film
The Simpsons Movie (2007)
The loveable antics of America's favourite family continue in its usual addictive satirical fashion in The Simpsons Movie. Never dull, Homer embarks on a journey of predictable tomfoolery when he - allegedly accidentally - causes the Springfield Lake to collapse and turn into bubbling toxic mess. Of course chaos ensues, and the entire town is forced into quarantine. Homer is the most unpopular man about town (for a change) and he also, for some reason we're not even sure of, adopts a pig. The popularity of this TV show, and now the movie must never have been on the horizon when the creators first put ink to paper (screen, whatever). The Simpsons rule. Period.
Dove choice.
